Pinpoint

It was one of those moments that is short, but glows in the memory.  I've mentioned it before, and there will be some retelling for the sake of continuity.

She was beautiful and bright and quite erudite for not having travelled widely.  She was a lifelong Democrat and a suffragette.  She had no problem speaking her mind.  And a mind it was, for she analyzed and thought for herself.

She loved even when she was betrayed.  And those who value things more than people shortchanged themselves.

She had a bible quote on her mantle.  'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul and mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  The second was like unto it  Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  Upon these two commandments hang all the law and prophets.'

Those who do not adhere to the above reap what they sow.

Her home was small but was always big to as many who loved.

Long past her transition the house seemed almost hidden amongst businesses.  But it was not forgotten to those who both returned her love, and learned to speak out and speak one's mind.

Injustice never took root in her home.  And among the few things she hated was that.

The house was deserted.  There were security lights.  And, looking in, a light shone over the very spot where she sat and held court to all who sought her counsel.

Her real Light would never go out and was a pinpoint in all who love her still.

'It's who you are, not what you are' was a maxim.

And the clan motto COMMIT THY WORK TO GOD.

Jukebox

Music is one of the battlegrounds between good and evil.  And some people's definitions vary.

One sign is the vibes, the tones of music.  Lyrics may contribute.

Now, some tunes are earthy, even kinda raunchy, but they point out parts of our lives.

Some slide into darkness.  Not the light/dark twosided coin, but evil.

Some inspire and fill us with light.  Others are just fun.

I loved jukeboxes as a kid.  Still do.  I liked those mini ones at tables in diners.  Calling up and playing from the table was a hoot.

Juke has variable meanings, depending on origin.  Root spelling differs as the present word is spelled the same.

Examples are a zigzag football fakeout and a sexual connotation.  It's musical too.

Think of juke as a mix and the jukebox its meeting place.

And there is the jukebox of the mind.

Tunes play through our heads.  A word or action may inspire/remember music.

There is, of course, a spiritual level.

I think of bells, organs and hymns, but also all kinds of music.

Music can keep the darkness at bay.

It could be Handel or Elvis .

Let it go and flow.

Laundry Line

For Mom, laundry day was Monday and ironing day was Tuesday.  She grew up poor and insisted on doingit herself.

Eventually she splurged on a laundry service.

I still remember the clean odor of washing and the warm smell of fresh ironed clothes.

My eclectic mind re washing and ironing got me to thinking of two sisters.  One was 20 years older than the other, from 2 different mothers.  2 beautiful, brilliant young women.

The first was taken from her father at divorce.  It mattered not her mother deserted for a year, in which he raised her by himself.  It was typically railroaded.  His own lawyer silenced him.

The mother's family immediately isolated the daughter from the father.  Worse, they conditioned her to hate him.  This, in spite of his being a decent loving Dad.  They coveted her and made sure his visitation rights were violated.  Nothing was done.  It was social/familial brainwashing.  It's a typical anti Dad tactic.  Some Moms too but mostlyDads.

The father was fortunate with the younger daughter.  He raised her and her brother to young adulthood.  There was a close, loving relationship.  He taught them to think for themselves.  He protected them.

Then the daughter went away to college.  The parents blithely remained ignorant of the collectivist nest that college was  It even included promonant commie graduates.

She was systematically conditioned to loathe her country and especially her father.  They didn't count on her Mom being tough too.  It was a common tactic to brainwash kids.  It was socio/political conditioning.

If this happens to you, resist with truth, patience and especially love.  It is the one thing that is steadfast.

Once washed, air drying gives clothes a sweet natural restart.

Instead of replacing ie washing away the good, cleaning out the filth and ironing to instill toughness counters brainwashing.

The sweet wind of truth and Freedom banishes emptiness.

The hot iron takes away the wrinkles and evens the score.

Proof.

Naysayers demand proof when it is all around.
