 Turning aside/detouring.

At best it's a temporary stop.

Thwart is a war of attrition.

Its attempts to wear down and frustrate is for people to throw up their hands and give up.

Only we can stop.

Don't.

The ways to be victorious are many.

Alternatives rise.

Reminds me of the old Mission Impossible scenes where the good guys run through the blockades.
