Blue and Yellow

These colors make green.  Symbol of weal AND woe.

We think of green as calm, fertile, prolific.  There is a converse/obverse view.

In certain spiritual circles, green is the color of passion/jealousy.  Red, btw, is the color of calm.  Startling.  Green is the color of the fallen.

Ok.  Enough speculation lol.  Make of it what you will.  Now for just a story.

There is a mighty tree in the woods.  Not sure what kind, but it's big, with large gnarled limbs.  In Spring/Summer Its leaves are green and thick.  Of course, in fall/winter the tree presents its bare, sleeping limbs.  But some green remains.

There is a vine, with large verdant leaves, spiraling up the trunk. Slowly, quietly, it has advanced and extends to a couple of branches.

The shiny leaves twitch in the wind and the vine has grafted onto the trunk, as if just a part of the wood.

Bit by bit the vine saps the life of the tree.  The tree is mighty but in a matter of time it will become a brittle stick.  The vine cares not that it will die together.  It only consumes.

A tree surgeon is needed.  However, there is danger.  If plant poison is ill applied and if ungrafted poorly, the tree will still die.

Nevertheless, there will be scarring and the vine's root must be ripped out and up the tree.

All that is green is not good.

But the price of injury is better than a quiet, solitary death.

Let's hope the tree thrives and is stronger for the effort.
