Apathy

Apathy is a major contributor to dementia/Alzheimers.  Literally doing nothing, especially physical activity, atrophies muscle.  Also, thinking, analysis, self determination shrink.

Unfortunately, as people get older, they slow down.  As a result, they wither away.

I've seen therapists motivating folks, getting them to move, even minimally at socalled 'rest homes'.  That at least is good.  To inspire people to do so on their own is the goal.

I suggest being an inspiration to others.  If you do it, then reach out and get your peers to join in.

I look around and see so many with noses buried in pcs, phones with internet access and other devices.  They are often oblivious to their surroundings.  Physical fitness and critical thinking suffer.

A soft society, without motivation, is easier to control.

I just can't bring or not as it were, myself to do nothing.  And sure to do nothing is doing something.  Only to stop stagnating is that correct.

Now, I have at times slowed down.  Maybe I've been ill or distracted.  And the older we get, the easier to get flabby.

Put a stop to that, if you are caught in a revolving door of apathy.

Exercise your bodies and minds.  Workout.  You don't have to be Arnold nor anyone else.  Find out what works for you.  Read.  Think.  Walk.  Get up from bed/desk and stretch, deep bend, punch, flex neck and grip.  Then do mind puzzles, walk and read or exercise then sit and analyze.

Watch what's going on.  Get involved, however you may.  Write a blog, letters, communicate.

Learn not to rely on electronics.  If you remember what it was like before the internet, share that with others who don't.

We cannot be stopped unless we surrender.

Don't give up.

We win if we are fit.
